  • Locate your Microsoft Publisher file with InDesign File Open. Click “Open”. In the InDesign menu bar, click “Markzware”. Select “Convert MS Publisher Document” from the Pub2ID fly-out menu. The conversion progress bar appears. The Microsoft Publisher file will open in InDesign.
  • PUB file extension represents Microsoft Publisher document file format. It’s very popular file format used for different types of publications like newsletters, flyers, brochures, postcards, etc. Also, this format is widely used in Websites and Emails.
  • Publisher finally opens the PUB file from the OneDrive location (after clicking cancel on the DOC.LIVE login dialog box). However, the file opens as a read only. I have attempted to change the file status from read only to edit, but have failed to find a solution.
  • It is worth noting, however, that there is no direct Mac App for editing Microsoft publisher files. The closest equivalent is the Apple Pages word processing program. It is kind of like a mix between MS Word and Publisher.
Sorry, Publisher uses a proprietary format that only Publisher itself could open. I'm not aware of any application for an iPad that can open those files. There are some third-party services that purport to be able to convert Publisher files to .doc, but I don't know if those services work well. Otherwise you'll have to copy out the objects and text in the Publisher file and paste them into a Word document which you could then open on the iPad in Pages, Documents To Go, or another app that can edit Word documents.
There are also products and services that say they can convert Publisher files to PDF, if you just need to be able to view them on the iPad.
Regards.

Your friend had created a cool logo and sent you a PSD file, but unfortunately, you are out of town without your work computer. And you want to open a PSD file without Photoshop, maybe even edit the image a little bit. So, what is the best way to do that?

But first, what exactly is a PSD file?

When you save an image in Photoshop, the default format is PSD (short for Photoshop document). This PSD file contains all your images, layers, functions like color correction etc store in original quality. Just like WMA is propriety of Microsoft, but you can play a WMA audio file with most music players, similarly, PSD is owned by Adobe, but other programs can also open (and sometimes edit) a PSD file. So, let’s check them out.

Open PSD files without Photoshop

1. Google Drive

Google Drive is a beautiful and easy option if you just want to view the image inside the PSD file. Simply, open Google Drive, then after that drag the PSD file to your Google Drive. Now as soon as the upload will complete, you have a variety of options. Right-click on the archive and select Preview to watch the image. You can print the photograph or convert it using cloud convert. Google Drive doesn’t allow you to view layers of the PSD files.

Support for Layers – No, only gives you a preview of the PSD
