Autodesk Backburner Windows 10

Hello @teemu.jarvenpaa,

  1. Autodesk Backburner Setup
  2. Autodesk Backburner Download
  3. Autodesk Backburner Windows 10 1
  4. 3ds Max Backburner

In Windows: from the Start Menu, select Programs Autodesk Backburner Manager. The message “Starting Network Manager” as well as server connection messages are displayed in the window. To view details on the status of Backburner Manager, leave its application window open or view the log files. Autodesk Backburner is a tool and it is used for 3D rendering programs such as 3D, max, Maya and many more others.Really it is very helpful for animation movies. If you want to use Autodesk Backburner then first you have to download that particular software. Autodesk Backburner trial version is available for you and you can use that particular software with no fee for 30 days. Windows 10 is not yet an officially supported operating system across the Autodesk product line. Our development team is working on it. I believe more 3ds Max cutomer use backburner on windows 10. So I suggest that you can post this question on 3ds Max forum. Hello, I have a troubleshooting issue with Backburner 2008.1 for 3ds Max Design 2009. I try to do a render of the scene via “net render”, but when I launch Backburner Server in stumbles over an “unhandled exception” and starts the w. Our software library provides a free download of Autodesk Backburner 2014 14.0. Our built-in antivirus scanned this download and rated it as 100% safe. The software relates to Photo & Graphics Tools. This free software is a product of Autodesk, Inc. The most popular version among the program users is 14.0. The latest version of Autodesk Backburner v2013.0.2.1590 and the size of the installation package is 10.49 MB. This program is designed by Autodesk, Inc. And provided free of charge. The software belongs to 3D Modeling in the Photo & Design category. Autodesk have a tool which allow us create our own ‘domestic’ Render Farm through an accessible local network. With Backburner application we can speed up render time a little bit for tests or even for final quality render tasks. In this tutorial I want share a short and very basic setup for Backburner.

I'd like to try to help with this, there is another user that is experiencing the same issues and I will try to impart the discussion so far here as well. Keep in mind that if you have no 3rd party firewalls, then you have Windows Firewall, unless you disabled it. It's not possible to remove it entirely, from what I understand. Also keep in mind that no version of 3ds Max is technically supported under Windows Server 2012. (So... none of this may work here, but we can try.) Are you also trying to run manager as a service?

Before we begin, (you may already be familiar) this link has some basic info for other users looking into this thread about backburner as a service.

1) First, You may want to double check that serversvc.exe, server.exe, manager.exe and managersvc.exe have an exception in your firewall(s), including windows Defender. There have been cases in the past where not having serversvc.exe in the firewall exclusions would prevent the server from connecting to the manager. You would have to do this in windows firewall and possibly Windows Defender.

2) Backup your Backburner.xml file, then edit your Backburner.XML file the replace the word 'Localhost' for the manager name with whatever the IP address of the machine is, or if DHCP will assign random IP's on your network, the Computer Name instead. You can find the backburner.xml file here: 'C:Users%username%AppDataLocalbackburner'

3) Lastly, this may come down to permission issues for windows 10 services (or server 2012 services). Historically, a service is run with limited access permissions. (Usually your 'SYSTEM' account) In your backburner service properties, you can go to 'Log On' tab and select an Admin account that has the maximum access privileges. (Admin or equivalent.)

Let's start with these and move on from there.

Autodesk Backburner Windows 10

Best Regards,

Issue:

After updating Windows 10 to the Creators, Creators Fall or April 2018 Update, Backburner no longer renders. The following notification is displayed when submitting a job via 3ds Max or Maya in the Backburner Server, Manager or log files:
'Could not broadcast servers'
The message from the Backburner Server Log reads as follows:

Environment:

  • Windows 10 Creators Update (1703).
  • Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (1709).
  • Windows 10 April 2018 Update (1803).

Causes:

With the recent releases of Microsoft Windows Updates, changes were made in the way Windows 10 broadcasts server requests.
Note: This error can appear on Virtual Machines as well. They are not supported for 3ds Max.
For more information regarding this, see: Running 3ds Max and Maya in Virtual Environments, such as Boot Camp, Parallels, VMWare, AWS Cloud, or Citrix

Solution:

Recent Windows 10 updates have changed the Homegroup functionality and may alter the Network Discovery service on a computer. To address these issues, try the following:

Disable the Windows SSDP Discovery Service

SSDP (Network Discovery) is a non-essential service intended to allow Windows to find PnP network devices.
In Windows Services, disable the SSDP Service:
  1. Go to Windows Start.
  2. Type Services.
  3. Find the 'SSDP Discovery' entry in the list.
  1. Right-click the entry and chooseProperties.
  2. If SSDP Discovery is already running on the machine ensure that 'Startup Type' is set to Disabled.
  3. Apply and accept the changes.
  4. Reboot all machines and restart the Backburner Manager, Monitor and Server applications on all PCs.

Disable the Windows Auto-Tuning feature

The Window Auto-Tuning feature is enabled by default in Windows 10 and makes data transfers over networks more efficient. More information can be found in the article: Window Auto-Tuning in Windows 10
To disable the Auto-Tuning feature, do the following:

  1. Go to Windows Start.
  2. Type cmd.exe.
  3. Right-click the Command Prompt and choose 'Run as administrator.'
  4. Confirm the User Access Control (UAC) prompt that opens.
  5. Run the command: This will display the network configuration of a computer.
Note: To run the command, copy and paste the code sample text into the elevated Command Prompt.
  1. Press Enterto execute the command.
  2. To disable the Windows Auto-Tuning on the machine, run the command:
  3. Press Enter to execute the command. The Command Prompt will then show 'OK' when completed.
Note: If the feature needs to be enabled on the machine at a later time, this can be done by running the following command:

Re-enable the Function Discovery Resource Publication networking service

To re-enable the Function Discovery Resource Publication networking service that ensures PCs are discovered on a local computer network:
  1. Follow the instructions in the provided link for all machines on the network:
  1. Reboot the machines and restart the Backburner Manager, Monitor and Server applications on all PCs.
Note: Although the 'broadcast servers' error may still appear in some Backburner Server windows after the preceding fix, if the Server app then shows that it has connected successfully to the Backburner Manager, you should be able to submit jobs at that point.

If the error persists when rendering with V-Ray (Chaos Group)

Autodesk Backburner Setup

Confirm that the V-Ray License Server is still using the correct IP address. Occasionally, after Windows Updates are installed, the IP address for the License Server can change, causing Backburner to fail. Software

If the error persists rendering with Arnold

See the following article:

Autodesk Backburner Download

'INF Adapter returned unexpected code -2 for 'C:Program filesAutodesk3ds Max 20xxmaxadapter.adp.exe' when running Backburner
Finally, in some cases despite the warning messages in the logs, the job can, and will, still complete. The messages can be ignored, but it is still good practice to ensure the Timeout settings are customized.
