Archos 605 WiFi(20GB-160GB) Firmware v1.3.52 was collected from Archos official site for Archos MP3/MP4 Player. In order to ensure the right driver download, Official driver links from Archos are listed at first.

  • The 605 does not power down, instead goes into standby!!! - the battery life of the Archos 605 is increased because of the external power pack! - the camera buttons carry on working!!! All-in-all I think this is a pretty good workaround! The only thing I need to figure out now is how long the 605 can hang around in 'Standby' mode.
  • The manual didn't have any info regarding battery replacement. My old AV500's manual had info on how to replace the battery. I did a google search for 605 batteries and luckily I found a great site that sells lots of Archos accessories and it had a replacement for the 605 160gb for $29.99.
