yesterday I had the same problem as other users with the Swissonic USB-MIDI interface. I found a solution for this problem, and want to share this solution to help other users with the Swissonic MIDI USB Interface, who have driver issues in Windows 7.
I searched a long time for similar devices with 1x1 MIDI possibilities and tried plenty of drivers from different manufacturers.
Windows 7 SP1,Windows 8,Windows 8.1,Windows 10 Important Notice The USB-MIDI Driver is for use with Studio Manager V2 Host, Editor, PM1D Manager and DME Designer.
My hope was to find a manufacturer that uses similiar parts insides the device and offers driver support for Windows 7.
Consider going to Windows 7. HOWEVER, a MIDI driver is a MIDI driver and anything specific to the synth is really not truly just a driver as such, but a user interface type program that may contain things like voice editors and other functions specific to the synth. USB MIDI device problem on windows 7 Hi, I have an HP laptop with windows 7 64bit installed. I recently bought an Akai LPK25 MIDI keyboard, it is described as being plug and play with no other driver software required. Casio drivers are for keyboard models with the early version of a USB MIDI port. The LK-100 does not have a USB MIDI port, so it does not need any drivers. Your audio interface manufacturer should tell you if that device needs a driver or not. That won't be related to Casio in any way. You attach a USB 2.0 audio device to a computer that is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 R2. The USB 2.0 audio device has a MIDI out port. In this scenario, the USB audio device may not work correctly.
The solution is a Windows 7 driver for the Roland UM-1G interface, that works also with the Swissonic 1x1 MIDI-Interface. But carefully, there must be the letter G at the end. They have other UM devices with different letters at the end.
You have to install the drivers manually. The setup.exe didn't work in my case.
Manually you can install the drivers via the device manager in Windows 7. You have to choose a list of all devices, than select a medium and choose the 'RDIF1093.INF' file in the extracted driver folder named 'Files'. A window will prompt and asks if you really want to install the UM-1G device. You should click yes and allow to install the driver for the UM-1G device.
When everything is finished, you should be able to choose the UM-1G interface in your favorite software program.

Some other problems occur with this device, when your USB ports don't deliver enough power. In this case use should use your USB ports in the back instead of the front USB ports. Another solution is to use a PCI USB Card or a USB HUB with an external power adapter!

now i've connected it to my pc in the past which runs Windows XP Pro and had no issues with it installing the generic drivers because it states that it doesnt need them. Now after 6 months of not using it, when I connect it to the same computer, it says that it cannot find drivers for it, I've searched all over the net for help but I always seem to come across issues that have never occured in the world. right now it sits in my device manager with the name 'USB midi cable' but cnnot find its drivers.
what i've done to troubleshoot it is I've connected it to a laptop and another pc which both run windows vista and they both load the generic drivers the moment I connect it. I have looked on the companies website and emailed them asking for them to send me drivers, but they simply stated that the issue is something else and sent me some crummy sound driver stuff to try and install, which did nothing.
I am in a semi desperate position because i'm needing to do some tests on my computer, and i cannot move onto the vista computers.
thanks in advance
